Michigan cherries meet the classic flame-grilled burger! Savor the bright and tangy taste of Michigan sun-ripened cherries two ways – real tart cherries IN the burger, and ON the burger by topping it with Food For Thought’s famous Cherry Ketchup. The result is a deliciously subtle sweet/tart fl avor that pairs perfectly with flame-grilling, and BONUS - you get all of the unique antioxidant properties that cherries are known for!
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup fresh pitted Michigan tart cherries, or Michigan Farm to Freezer frozen tart cherries, coarsely chopped & drained well
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Slider buns
- Food for Thought Cherry Ketchup & Cherry Honey Mustard
- Garnishes of choice
Pre-heat the grill. Mix the beef, cherries, onions, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and form into 8 patties. Oil the grill to prevent sticking. Grill the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until done to your preference.
Place the burgers on the buns and serve with Food for Thought Cherry Ketchup and Cherry Honey Mustard and your favorite garnishes.
