Green Cuisine is an expression of Food For Thought’s philosophy. It is our effort to bring more awareness to the benefit of local food and sustainable business practices. Visitors will be able to sample some of the best products of local food and beverage artisans, tour Food For Thought’s new facility at the Long Lake Culinary Campus (LLCC), as well as socialize, learn and have fun in a beautiful setting. Children welcome.

Green Cuisine started in 2005, and continued until 2014 on the Food For Thought property in Honor, MI. Summer 2019, we are so excited to be bringing it back at our new location at the LLCC! We are committed to keeping this event zero waste, free and open to the public.  It is part of what makes this event special, and also why we don’t allow on site sales of any kind.

The purpose of this event is to help us sustain our mission of not only creating, but raising awareness around just and sustainable food systems. Our goal is to create an environment where locals can meet the creators behind the rich culinary culture we have in this region.

The LLCC is the new home of the production kitchen, farm, and retail store for Food For Thought – an artisanal manufacturer of premium, small-batch preserves, sauces, condiments and other organic and all natural specialty foods. The previously abandoned Long Lake elementary school building and grounds were purchased in 2017, and then painstakingly and artfully repurposed and expanded, with a priority on the implementation of “green” building practices. LLCC will also serve as a collaborative food hub for young and growing food businesses in the Grand Traverse area, as well as offering general office, educational/non-profit lease space.
